Who can see my Skype profile and presence status?

You control who can see your Skype profile information and presence status. Some information is visible to everyone, but you can leave it blank if you don't want it shown in your profile. Skype does not display your email address. No one can see it when looking at your profile. Only friends who already know your email address can use it to search for you.

What can everyone see?

  • Your Skype Name

  • Your Skype Display Name

  • Your City, State and Country

  • Your Profile picture, if you've added one. However, you can change who can see it in Settings .

What can my contacts see?

  • Your presence status

  • Phone number (if you've included it in your Skype profile)

  • Birthday (if you've included it in your Skype profile)

How can I manage what people see?

Make your profile picture private

Skype on desktop, mobile, and web

  1. Select your profile picture .

  2. Select Settings .

  3. Select Account and Profile .

  4. Select Profile picture .

  5. Under Choose who can see your profile picture , select Public or Contacts only .

Delete contacts from your Profile visibility list

  1. Select your profile picture .

  2. Select Settings .

  3. Select Contacts .

  4. Select Privacy , then select View list .

  5. In the Profile visibility list , next to the person you want, select More more options button , then Delete contact .

Note : All your contacts will be shown in the profile visibility list, not just ones you've removed. Be sure you have the correct contact selected when you delete them. Managing what profile information people see is not available on Skype for Android 4.04 - 5.1. If you're on an older Android, we recommend managing this information from a computer via Skype on the Web .
